Green Vibe Forskolin Results Weight : the low-carb diet proves more effective in the short term (3 and 6 months) but at 12 months there is no significant statistical difference between the two diets; for both the weight loss settles around 4% of the initial weight. Given the small size of the sample, however, it is evident that this result may be due to weight regain in the low-carb group, thus showing how patient compliance decreases over time. Blood pressure : there were no significant changes in systolic pressure in either group; in both groups, instead, a decrease in diastolic pressure was shown. Glucose tolerance : there was no difference between the two groups. Lipoproteins in the blood : the increase in HDL concentration ("good cholesterol") and the decrease in the concentration of triglycerides in the blood were more significant in the low-carb group. Conclusions The study shows that, in the long term, low-carb and traditional diets are equivalent in terms of weight loss. This is one of the few studies carried out over such a long period of time; another study published in the same year on NEJM, in fact, achieves different results by setting the duration of the study at 6 months: in a shorter period of time, in fact, the low-carb diet proves more effective in causing a weight loss . The choice between a low-carb and a traditional diet, therefore, depends not only on one's state of health but also on one's own goals and on the time one wants to use to reach them; it must in fact be borne in mind that in obese subjects a rapid weight loss is not always indicated, as it could lead to problems due to a breakdown of the skin with subsequent presence of skin laxity. Paleo diet and paleolithic diet of men The paleodiet was developed by Loren Cordain, an American nutritionist and physiologist, based on the fact that agriculture is a relatively recent invention and that, therefore, the human body has not yet adapted to the systematic intake of its products. The discrepancy between the modern diet and the "prehistoric" digestive system is at the origin of many disorders, among which overweight is the least worrying.
